Well, with Camp, Swimming Zones, and Waterwise over, I am into my final few weeks of teaching here at VAS. I have had a few discussions with Ben Farrow (Spelling??) in regards to his takeover, and he is getting excited about the prospect of teaching at this school. Last week, while away at camp, he had the opportunity to teach my classes and he seems to be well suited to the role. The only thing left for me to really organise is the teams for the Summer Field Day, transport, and parent help. Oh, and also help Jane with the Choir. I must say, with the end looming ahead, I am left with a feeling of great excitement (for the experiences ahead), but also sadness in leaving such a great part of my life behind. However, if I can…. I WILL BE BACK!!
Well, we have just finished our annual swimming sports and it went ahead without any mishaps or delays. Just a few things that I might do differently next year is to get the parent helpers email adresses instead of phone numbers, it is a lot easier and convenient to email a group than try to get hold of them by home phone. Another suggestion is to have a butterfly event, most likely an open event, as there were a few parents inquiring about it. But other than that, I am happy to have had it go well and now it is over and done with!! I will make sure that I thank the parents who helped, they were a big part in the running of the event. And the teachers too, they were tops!! :) Okay, no more greazing!!
Well, waterwise starts this week!! It has been a lot of work organising it, but I feel like it has all come together nicely. All that still needs doing is the RAMS to be distributed to all teachers and to the office. It is going to be exciting doing Kayaking, sailing, and wind surfing. Next on the agenda is swimming sports, and that is only one week away. I will have a copy of the event entries to teachers today to ensure that all children have entered into their respective events. So it too, is coming along rather well, just seems to be approaching at an impecable speed!!
